My dad had a dressing gown. He spent a lot of time in it towards the end and it always seemed as tired and worn out as he was. Somehow dressing gowns, or bath robes as the Americans call them, have always had that association with me. They’ve always spoken of age and decline. I have one but don’t wear it often.
Lyra, however, is a big fan of robes and has a collection that look rather fantastic on her. These are definitely not old folks home dressing gowns but light, filmy, frankly rather sexy, attire that make her look ready for bed even when she’s just got up!
She had bought me this robe before I arrived and I loved it as soon as I tried it on. It’s a Kimono, made in Japan. It’s light as silk and beautiful. I don’t feel I’m actually wearing it so much as, with a life of its own, it simply choses to float around me, not quite touching yet always with me.
I tried to capture its airy movement in my Vegas hotel room and sent this picture to Lyra. She approved so I’m sharing it for Sinful Sunday.
More Sunday Sin here:
I know what you mean about dressing gowns, I own one, it hangs on my bedroom door just in case one day I may have use for it.
As for your robe, I can just see you swishing and swooshing around in it.
It looks amazing. I don’t have any sort of robe but now I am wondering if I need one

What a fabulous robe! (I’m so envious) You’re looking great in it too. Really confident image.

Such a lovely kimono! I bet you feel absolutely divine wearing it. She has good taste. XOXO
Oh yes … very fetching.
But, PAP, I’m sure it would feel … and look … even more so with just the robe [giggles and … tingles]!!!

I love it!
