A plus of solo lockdown is the time and inclination to return to baking. It seems half the country wants to make bread now and my Twitter TImeline and DMs are suddenly full of rising times and sourdough starters and I’m fine with all of it.
This week’s Sinful Sunday theme called for an image with food or drink so I baked a special loaf for the occasion. An epi is a baguette cut with scissors Before baking to represent an ear of wheat.
A second plus from solo lockdown is being able to mess around naked with a camera phone. I ended up with two images, the first featuring Bibulous in domesticated mode, wearing a baker’s apron, loading bread into the oven. I went with this one.
Somehow the steel peel seems to be held like a weapon in this shot, which wasn’t a look I was particularly working on. I might post the other image in the week.

I was like… what the hell is that? A really big root of some sorts? lol. What an interesting type of bread. I love the strong pose and demeanour of you in this picture. It’s like you wanted something so you made sure you got it and this is the result. It’s great!
I want to bake more but I’m holding onto my last bag of strong flour in case we can’t get any bread so I’m baking less right now…just in case!

Never heard of it – looks super cool and now even at this time, I fancy fresh bread and soup lol.
I did not know of epis. But I have seen them. Now I know. Soup with bread sounds good right now. Cook baking shot. Be careful who you show that steel peen though, you might get smacked on the bottom with it.
